Networking Events
The Career Center's Networking Events bring together students, alumni and working professionals in a variety of fields for career discussion and professional networking. Professionals share information about career paths, industry trends, specific companies and professional development.
Networking Events are not an opportunity to interview or look for jobs; instead they provide an opportunity to make contacts in your field of choice and explore career options you may not have otherwise considered. Career Networking Events often consist of a panel discussion followed by an informal reception where you can speak with panelists in small groups or one-on-one. With that being said, select networking events will be complemented by the inclusion of one or more recruitment tables at which employers will be sharing information about job opportunities and/or accepting resumes. Please see the current schedule to learn which events will include recruitment tables.
There is no charge to attend Networking Events. Register for all events through DePaul.Experience.

What is Networking?
Professional networking occurs when two people, in the same or differing professions, exchange information that is useful in some way to both parties. It can happen at a club meeting or a classroom presentation, while you're conducting research or having dinner. Networking contacts can be friends of friends, professors, former bosses or co-workers, or alumni of DePaul. If you're sharing information that helps both of you in some way, you're networking.
For more information on how to network effectively, attend the Networking Skills workshop. And be sure to attend one of the many Networking Events offered by the Career Center.
How to Participate in a Career Networking Event
To Pre-Register: Register through eRecruiting. If you're not already registered in eRecruiting, the process only takes a few minutes, and once you've been registered, signing up for a Career Networking Event is even quicker.
To Register at the Door: Walk-ins are welcome, but many of our Career Networking Events are very well-attended. It's always better to pre-register in case the venue fills up.
