Advising Policies & Procedures

Prepare for Your Appointment

To receive the maximum benefit from your advising session, prior to your appointment we ask that you:

• Register in DePaul.Experience
  Fill out your profile online in DePaul.Experience prior to your appointment
• Do some career exploration of your own
  This can include career research, attending Career Center workshops, or taking advantage of Peer Career Advising. Please bring a copy of your resume to your appointment.

Advising Policies

• Cancellations - we request that you cancel appointments 24 hours in advance of the appointment - at that point, every effort will be made to reschedule the appointment within 5 business days
• Professional Dress - It is not necessary to dress in a suit for your advising appointment. We do recommend that you dress professionally to attend networking events, job fairs and practice interviews.
• Tardiness - if a student or alumni is more than 15 minutes late for an advising appointment, the advisor reserves the right to reschedule the appointment
